Design Commissions and Custom Pieces

Led by Andrew Brott, Brottworks Design Studio is a team of highly trained artisans in glass, metalworking, and printmaking.

Brott collaborates with architects, interior designers, museums, galleries, and private clients to create innovative kiln-fired and blown-glass creations for public and private spaces.

How To Commission Work From Our Studio

Brottworks has clients throughout the United States. We can produce custom work from your site drawings and photographs of your space.

  • 1 We require a design deposit to put together a design proposal for your custom project. The deposit is applied toward the balance of your commission.

After a deposit is received, we put together a proposal that includes elevations, a color rendering, examples of glass color, glass samples (if needed), a project budget, and a projected lead time.
  • 2 Packing, crating, shipping, and insurance quotes will be provided as best estimates pending the zip code and item to be shipped. We will bill off the actual shipping costs.
  • 3 Once a design and budget are finalized, a purchase agreement is signed, and a 50% deposit is required to start. Pending the current production schedule and based on the quoted lead time, your project will be fabricated.
  • 4 Once the work is complete and ready to ship, the final balance is due prior to shipping. We will invoice packing, crating, shipping, and insurance costs.
  • 5 BrottWorks will come to your site to install your custom work. Additional fees based on location, transportation, installation, per diem, and assistant apply. We work directly with your electrician for all electrical requirements.
