On April 6, 2013, BrottWorks Design Studio participated in the annual
Freret Street Festival.  The festival drew record crowds of 23,500.
It was a wonderful opening and a pleasure to meet so many
new friends and neighbors in the Freret community.  BrottWorks
hosted The Lens and NOFD Station 38 and raised funds for the
fire house in our neighborhood. We look forward to next year.

This January 2013 we are celebrating our third year in our new home + studio.
It has been a whirl to say the least and three years have passed so quickly. Building a home + studio was a fantastic opportunity and our builder, Tommy Benasco, was amazing to work with.  Those of you that have had the opportunity to visit, know just how special this place is for us.  Our neighborhood continues to flourish and the Freret community gets better each day!

BrottWorks Design Studio welcomed the Metropolitan Contemporary Glass Group Sunday, October 14, 2012.  The group was visiting New Orleans and we hosted a slide presentation and tour. The collectors enjoyed a presentation by Andy and then regrouped in the home above the studio for light refreshments and and a viewing of the private collection.

The group included Mel Weiner (MCGG) and the current president of the Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass, Harlan Fischer. It was fun to meet collectors that had purchased sculptures over fifteen years ago and have been following Brott’s career.  We look forward to hosting both groups on their next visit to New Orleans.

New Orleans, LA – September 1, 2012
Greetings from the South to our family, friends and clients.

The storm rolled in early Tuesday evening and the power went off.  Last summer we installed a whole house generator and what a treat to have air conditioning and a cold fridge.  The storm did heavy damage to surrounding communities outside the levee protection and we were fortunate there was zero street flooding in our area.
We are in the process of putting the house + studio back together and get back to work  on our current projects.
The studio should be fully operational after Labor Day!
The photo shows how 50 pound bags of Spectrum Glass Nuggets come in handy to help brace the front fence.
These nuggets will be used later this month to blow glass for several fabulous chandeliers!
