Brottworks Design Studio was commissioned by Shea, Inc. of Minneapolis earlier this fall to create work for the newly renovated Café Carnegie at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh.
There were numerous design challenges and a tight timeline. The five individual lamps were fabricated from mild steel with a patina finish. The blown glass globes were created with lead glass crystal that fractures the light. The tallest is approximately nine feet tall with the flanking lamps staggered at eight and seven feet tall. This collaboration with Shea, Inc. provided the client with a finished product that makes the space glow and provides wow!
